HEATLESS AIR DRYER
PNEUM SYSTEMS INC, has developed Heatless Air Dryer which is a
chemical desiccant using dryer, working on adsorption principle. The
system consists of twin towers filled with desiccant of appropriate
quality and quantity. Wet compressed air after being filtered by the
prefilter and coalescing oil filter enters the distribution valve.
An electrically operated valve with built in passages, which directs
the air to one tower. The air is then passed through the tower and
comes out in dry condition. The air is then passed through after
filter to remove any carry over dust, via non-return valve. There is
a by-pass arrangement with an orifice, to allow a fraction of dry
compressed air to expand and pass through the other tower, here by
regenerating it and making it ready for adsorption Cycle. The
Regenerating air is passed out to the Atmosphere via muffler. At a
preset time, the sequence control timer actuates the Distributor
valve to reverse the tower function . For lower capacities, the
distribution valve and control valve are integral units, however for
higher capacity these control elements comprise of discrete control
valves and orifices. Our Heatless air dryers are compact,
economical, pre assembled, fully automatic, “Fit and Forget” type of
units with very little power consumption of around 100 watts.
For detailed offer, please indicate capacity, pressure, and source
of compressed air.
FEATURES (ALL MODELS)
* Outlet air dew point of -40oC is achieved.
* There is no increase in the effluent gas temperature.
* Since the drier size depends only on flow and pressure, inlet
temp. of 10oC to 50oC can be handled by same unit.
* Very low spare parts inventory.
* Desiccant beds can remove oil in its vapour form.
AIR RECEIVER
These are either horizontal or vertical installations depending upon
the space availability. The size may vary from 100 liters to 10 m3.
On horizontal receivers the compressor and motor can be mounted to
save the space of operation. Compressors up to 20 H.P. can be
suitably mounted on the horizontal tanks up to 500 liters capacity.
CONSTRUCTION :
All receivers are made from carbon
steel and built to IS-2825 or ASME code section VIII. The working
pressures may vary from 75 psig (5 kg/cm2) to 750 psig (50 kg/cm2)
Vessels can be manufactured as per other codes if required. Each
vessel is fitted with a pressure relief valve, a pressure gauge, a
drain valve, air inlet and air outlet connections. Pressure switch
and other safety fittings can be supplied on request. Each vessel is
hydrostatically tested as per relevant code. Other non destructive
testing like radiography, Ultrasonic test etc. can be provided if
required.
AFTER COOLER
CONSTRUCTION :
The unit is a shell and tube heat exchange with M.S. shell and
Copper tubes. In case of Horizontal after cooler the water passes
through shell over the tubes carring hot compressed air. There is a
moisture separator provided at the outlet of the cooler which
removes the oil and water droplets formed due to cooling.
INSTALLATIONS :
The unit is suitably supported horizontally. The outlet of the
compressor is connected to the inlet of the cooler and the outlet of
the cooler is connected to the receiver with necessary piping. This
is the ideal suggestion. However sometimes the cooler can be
connected at the outlet of the receiver and out fleat of the
moisture separator can be connected to the downstream consumers. The
cooling water connection to the unit should be given after the pump
and outlet from the cooler can be lead to pump or cooling tower.
OPERATION :
The cooling water circulation is started. The compressor is started.
Hot air from the compressor is passed through the cooler where it
gets cooled to ambient condition. The water and oil vapours, which
are condensed are separated in the moisture separator. This
condensate should be drained regularly to avoid carry over. Removal
of excess water droplets from any compressed air or gas system, is
efficiently and simply accomplished in the moister separators.
Capacities ranges from 10CFM To 6000 CFM with various WORKING
PRESSURES.
DUPLEX FILTERS
The Compressed air at the outlet of
its receiver contains oil, Dust and some Moisture. To deal with this
menace, Pneum Systems Inc, have developed the duplex filter, to take
care of wide range of these impurities. These filters are the
combination of carbon filter and micro filter. The first part
consists of an activated carbon bed. This bed is capable of removing
oil vapours by absorption principle, during upward flow of the
gas/air. The air leaving this unit will contain oil vapours to the
tune of 8 ppm. min. depending on the inlet oil content and status of
charge. The micro filter unit has micro porous filter elements of
polyethylene / ceramic. These elements have filtration efficiency of
99% upto 5-10 microns of solids or liquid particles.
These filters have following
characteristics :
1. Wide range covering from 10 CFM to
CFM-FAD.
2. Low pressure loss across the unit.
3. Filteration efficiency upto 8 ppm for oil content and 99% upto
5-10 microm for dust.
4. The unit can be designed for any working pressure upto 50 bar.
However standard units are designed for 7-10 bar pressure.
5. The units are designed and constructed in accordance with
pressure vessel codes i.e. IS-2825 or ASME VIII DIV. I.
The activated carbon charge provided
in the filter is non regenerative type and should be replaced after
about 2500 hrs. of operation, depending upon the oil content in the
compressed air. The porous filer elements can be cleaned by reverse
flow of clean air under pressure.
